Original souvenir
program for the 1933/34 Broadway production of "Jezebel" starring
Miriam Hopkins and Joseph Cotten. Staged by GuthrieE McClintic
and Katharine Cornell. Written by Owen Davis. Production
staged by Donald Oenslager.
This play opened
at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York, New York. It started
its previews on December 19, 1933 and had its official Broadway
opening on January 1, 1934. Unfortunately, the play was not a
success, and closed in January of 1934 after only 32
performances. Of course, the film version of this play was made
successfully in 1938, starring Bette Davis, who would win her
second Academy Award for this film. |
