This is a print of a
portrait done in charcoal and is approximately 8" x 10 1/2" in
size. It's from a series done by famous Hollywood artist , Nicholas Volpe.
He was commissioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in
1962 to create this beautiful artwork. The series consists of Academy Award
Winners, both male and female. The series was available for purchase to
those that attended the 1962 Academy Awards Ceremonies in Hollywood. It was
also available for purchase at movie theatres in other parts of the country
in 1962 as well. This is a portrait of Norma Shearer, Academy Award Winner
in 1930 for the movie "The Divorcee". |
