F. Scott Fitzgerald based one of his most famous stories, "Crazy Sunday", on
a party hosted by Shearer.

These
delicately-drawn and colored handbills were an eye-catching way to advertise
a film. Handed out to potential movie-goers on the streets, after a film, or
even dropped off onto a front porch, they were often treasured by fans eager
to gather ephemera about their favorite performers. This
collection of handbills features the work of Norma Shearer. If anyone has
an example of a handbill not shown on this page, would you
let
us know? We might want to feature it. Hovering your mouse over the thumbnails will reveal more info about the
handbill.
