My Favorite Broadway - The Love Songs

"Put me down, honey, and I'll get you a walk-on in The Vagina Monologues...
no lines, but you get to show your face."

Marin Mazzie is a lovely singing-actress and one of the most in-demand Broadway divas of the day. She has given Tony Award-nominated performances as Clara in Passion, Mother in Ragtime, and as Lili Vanessi in Kiss Me, Kate. She was chosen by John Adams to appear on the recording of his musical theatre piece I Was Looking at the Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky and appeared as Beth in the first major U.S. revivals of Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along following its original Broadway production. She has participated in several concerts honoring Stephen Sondheim, in addition to Carnegie Hall's My Favorite Broadway concerts (The Leading Ladies and The Love Songs), and sang the role of Helen in a concert staging of Cole Porter's Out of This World as part of New York Cinter Center's Encores! series. She is married to Broadway star Jason Danieley, and recently appeared on Broadway in the dual role of Aldonza/Dulcinea in Man of La Mancha, opposite her Kiss Me, Kate and Ragtime co-star Brian Stokes Mitchell. Her most recent New York appearance was as Lily Garland in a concert of staging of On the Twentieth Century, opposite Joanne Worley and Kathleen Turner.
