Life was published weekly from 1936 to 1972, as an intermittent "special" until 1978, a monthly from 1978 to 2000; and a weekly newspaper supplement from 2004 to 2007. On March 26, 2007, Time Inc. announced that it would fold the magazine as of April 20, 2007, although it would keep the Web site.

During the time when it was a weekly only 24 of the divas currently represented on Divas - The Site managed to become Life cover girls.

Elizabeth Taylor appeared on the cover a staggering 9 times during that time. Princess Margaret is placed third on the list (5 appearances). She ties with Rita Hayworth below Sophia Loren (7 appearances).
