Philippines Souvenir
Card issued during the Philippine Medical Philatelic Exhibition (PHILMEDPEX
'76) commemorating the First Anniversary of the Philippine Heart Center for
Asia, a project of former First Lady Imelda Marcos. The PHCA is the first in
Asia doing research and medical treatment specializing in heart diseases. The
souvenir card contains reproductions of Philippine stamps: 6c Philippine
Medical Association, 15s Philippine heart Center for Asia, and 50s, Imelda
Marcos; with quotation from Imelda's speech. This card was made available in
the 1977 Peace Philatelic Exhibition and affixed with 30s Heart stamp
cancelled Feb. 5, 1977, Thomas Jefferson Cultural Center Postal Station
PAXPEX '77; also with United Nations Paxpex rubber handstamped cachet, and
official show cancel. |
