Oprah narrates this
video for new parents called "Begin with Love," emphasizing a baby's first three months. Using
age-old common sense and modern findings, the 30-minute tape introduces
parents to elementary tasks: how to provide a loving environment, take care
of yourself, and respond to your baby's needs. Oprah herself - not a mom,
but certainly an advocate - speaks of how responsive a newborn is and the
importance of interaction. Most of the tape shows parents and babies in
their homes going through their routines - diapering, feeding, bedtime.
Clips of parents' experiences are mixed with advice from the Yale Child
Study Center's Dr. Kyle Pruett. A new Raffi music video, "Blessed
Be," closes the program. A helpful booklet of books and Web links is
also provided. |
