Wales attending a gala performance of the ballet Swan Lake on what was her
last evening engagement in London before her untimely death. The pearl and
diamond necklace she wore was returned to royal jewellers Asprey &
Garrard so that they could create a matching pair of earrings - but Diana
never had the opportunity to wear them. The entire jewellery set will be
auctioned in New York in December 1999. |
