This fine porcelain beaker was made by Doulton in 1897 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The colour portrait shows Queen Victoria attired for a State occasion, wearing the small crown and mantilla. On her sash the Queen has a fob brooch with a picture of Prince Albert. The back has the Diamond Jubilee date and the Royal Cipher for Queen Victoria. The Doulton Burslem backstamp is on the base, as well as the diamond backstamp of Whitelley's, a very fashionable London retailer to the Gentry of the period.
