Christy Turlington is a symbol of classic, elegant beauty, combined with grace that few people have.  Born in Walnut Creek, an upscale suburb of San Francisco, Christy spent her early teens indulging her passion for horses, until fashion photographer Dennie Cody convinced Turlington's hesitant parents that the youngster's natural beauty was a perfect match for the world of high fashion.  A long-running series of Calvin Klein ads helped make her one of the supermodels of the 1990s.  Together with Linda and Naomi she was referred to as The Trinity. In December of 2000 Turlington announced she had been diagnosed with early-stage emphysema, the result of a former cigarette habit.
