An impeccably aristocratic beauty, Iman was the first black supermodel to sign a multimillion dollar contract, with Revlon, in the late 1970's. Born in Somalia, her exotically graceful look made her a favorite model during the 1980's for the designers Alaia and Versace. At the peak of her career, Iman was involved in a horrible taxi crash that crushed the entire left side of her face. It was all put back together with surgical wire.
