Webb from
Detroit, Michigan was a fashion design student at Parsons school of design
in NYC when Karl Lagerfeld gave her a break and chose her for his Chanel runway
show, which she stole brilliantly when in he middle of the catwalk she
reached in her purse, took out a banana, slowly peeled it and ate it. It
was a great fashion moment. She hit in the late 80's and also got a Revlon
contract, one of the few black models to achieve that . She later did
a stint as an actress appearing in Spike Lee's Malcolm X. She is
also an accomplished journalist and writes a column for Paper Magazine and
Source Magazine in which she misquoted Mary J. Blige, thus creating a big
scandal. |
