The
wild, mysterious Veruschka was one of
the most exotic and erotic models of the 1960s, appearing on many
magazine covers and making an unforgettable appearance in the
classic film Blow-up. She was born in East Prussia, now
Poland, to parents of royal blood. Her real name is Countess Vera
Gottlieb von Lehndorff. Her modeling career didn't take off
until she reinvented herself and began implementing her own fashion
ideas into her shoots. She began painting her face and body, in some
cases actually attaching objects to herself for the photographs.
No wonder Life called her The Girl Everybody Stares At. |
