Divas - The Site appreciates your votes and comments. Here are some of the little gems you chose to share with us.

David (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"The Duchess of Windsor was an extraordinarily elegant, strong, fastidious, fun-loving, unique woman who made many aspects of living into a fine art: Interior design, flower arranging, household management, etiquette, wit, conversation, cuisine, the dinner party and entertaining in general, travel, fashion, and style."

Steven (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"I became totally fascinated with the life of Wallis Simpson about ten years ago.  I live in Baltimore, Maryland and as you know, Wallis' grandmother and biological father (Sol Warfield) lived here. In addition, I have always admired her spirit and determination to succeed, despite the fact she did not have the same comely attributes (e.g., physical beauty and high intellect) as other people. She is a glowing example (and inspiration) to all of us who endeavor to capitalize from what we do have and not dwell on what we don't have.  Wallis, in my estimation, is the ultimate diva, for both the past and present century."

Victoria (UK)) on Wallis Simpson
"She was amazing!"

Lalita (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She is simple and becoming. Classic and mesmerizing. Her personal present will leave you breathless with her flawless tastes in clothes, jewels, and her barbed sense of humor. She has everything it take to be a society diva. And of course, she has the love of a prince."

Amanda (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"... because she's my cousin & I've always admired her all my life. I'm proud to be related to her, also Sir Warfield of England."

Wesley (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She was an elegant lady who made the best of her situation.  Her first two husbands were extremely handsome even though she was not nearly so. She was able to convince a King to give up his crown. He could have had her as a mistress, but he gave all for her. She in turn gave her all for him."

Nischa (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"... because she got a king of England whipped so bad he chose love over duty!"

Josh (Canada) on Wallis Simpson
"... because she was married to Edward VIII."

Eileen (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She had style and the grace to make the most of a life not of her choosing."

Corine (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She found a man that was so in love with her he would do anything for her, even abdicate the throne"

Philip (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"One can never be too rich or too thin. Watch out for those Baltimore girls."

Melanie (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"A love story that will go down in history. Don't all women wish for that?"

Tracy (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"... because one could only hope to have a man love her as much as Wallis did.  What an amazing story."

Michelle (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She wasn't afraid of tradition and what other people thought.  She was unwavering in her love and decision to be with Edward.  She was not bound by any ideals of herself, and was free."

Beck (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"... because of her supposed tricks of the trade learned in a Chinese brothel."

Jerry (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"He gave up the throne for her!  Need I say more?"

Gloria (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Liked her style... never explain and never complain! Tells it all."

Chris (UK) on Wallis Simpson
"... because she was just brilliant and could make a king give up his throne for her."

Christos (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"First woman to get a King of England to resign."

Joyce (Singapore) on Wallis Simpson
"I read about her recently - a 540 pages book. I was really impressed but at the same time guilty of not being fair to her in the past for my wrong assessment of her. Many people used to think that she married King Edward VIII for fame and wealth but that was not the case. Read the book "Duchess of Windsor" and you will know what I mean. Theirs is indeed the greatest love story of all times. I was indeed touched and impressed by their love and passion for each other."

Agnes (Singapore) on Wallis Simpson
"A divorcee who can pull herself out of a bad marriage and snare a king is my heroine.  I draw inspiration from women like her cos I'm going thru a divorce myself."

Eileen (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Wallis Simpson followed her destiny and lived it out in style, with a sense of humor and to the eternal gossip that is still circulating even after her death."

Alexandra (Brazil) on Wallis Simpson
"... because of what a man renounced for the love of her."

Ada (Italy) on Wallis Simpson
"She was a real queen in helping people in Nassau during World War II, loving and caring for poor people always acting as a queen."

Macaronin (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Very strong at heart, lots of willpower, smart, elegant, royal, cool, tons of determination!"

Scott (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She followed her heart."

Alix (France) on Wallis Simpson
"She's elegant, graceful and tasteful!"

Lori (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Read a really good spy book about her!"

Lynn (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She had moxie, she had class, she pinched the King, she had sass!"

Mark (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"The most enigmatic, curious woman in the century. Her story defies all convention and left a crater in world history. There were other great divas, just none quite as multi-dimensioned. As Wallis once said: 'Mine is a simple story - or so I like to think. It is the story of an ordinary life that became extraordinary.'"

Drew (New Zealand) on Wallis Simpson
"Elegance incarnate. Knew how to get her own way. Knew how to wear jewels. Got up the establishment's nose."

Steffanie (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Here is a woman who went from genteel poverty to a possible life of prostitution in the Orient, to an affair with the Prince of Wales. Although she lost her bid to become queen of England, she still managed to lasso a former King/Emperor, and all of the social standing that came with it. She set the standard for style, not only in her youth but even in her elder years. She was a tornado!"

Peter (UK) on Wallis Simpson
"An incredible lady! I cannot begin to understand the disgusting treatment she received in England. She was a true diva!"

Pagan (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Style and class and great jewelry!"

Pohu (France) on Wallis Simpson
"For her loving story!"

Keith (UK) on Wallis Simpson
"She's everything I ever wanted to be - a slut who married well."

Sarah (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"... because I have to research her for journalism."

Eileen (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She never looked back."

Bob (Australia) on Wallis Simpson
"... cause she was fab!"

Jacques (Canada) on Wallis Simpson
"... because she was more than a woman of her time, she was courageous to face all the Windsor family."

Adele (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Plain, and masculine looking with a good name but no financial means of her own. Her mother was forced to turn their home into a boarding house, she was a 'poor relation' who had to rely on the sympathies and whims of her rich uncle for everything. She should have been lucky to marry once, yet she married thrice. Through her own cunning, manipulation, charm, wit, sense of style and ambition, she had by the time of her second marriage lived well throughout the United States, Singapore, and China. She had a fling with an Argentinean diplomat and supplemented her alimony through her winning at cards, specifically poker. Through her second marriage she moved to London and in the space of 5 years almost single-handedly caused the greatest schisms within one of the oldest and most powerful of Europe's ruling houses. This small mousy woman has been placed in the ranks of the world's most beautiful and glamorous females.  Through sheer power of will she propelled herself onto a stage that for all intents and purposes she should have never approached. She cared not a fig for convention or popular opinion. What was unthinkable to most was for her merely an obstacle to overcome.  Perhaps it was her poker playing skills that came into play. All the other players folded while she held tight.  To this day we don't know if she was bluffing or if she indeed had a winning hand. The end result was that she walked away with the King and fourteen years after her death, books are still being written, programs are still being shown and votes are being taken to see if a small, ugly, skinny, shrewd woman, who never did anything more than marry, is truly a diva. Not only is she a diva, she is the diva. In the year 2100 no one will know who Jane Fonda, Kate Moss, Céline Dion, Whitney Houston, or Cher were, but certain women like Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Camilla Parker Bowles, Diana, Princess of Wales will be remembered for the impact that their physical presence had on the world. Wallis, Duchess of Windsor, will be remembered for the crisis she helped create and the romantic (deserved or not) aura that surrounds her even in death."

Robert (UK) on Wallis Simpson
"... because she was special and loved a king."

Tonya (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"… because she won the heart of the worlds most desirable man!"

Sandy (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"Simply  because she had the strength to stand by the man she loved, regardless of the consequences ... and gave him all she had to give. A truly amazing love story. Love triumphs over political figure heads!"

Kelly (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"No other woman in recent history has caused such a stir in British Royalty - not even Diana. The mere fact that Edward gave up the throne of England for her speaks for itself. I don't think anyone else in the Royal Family would have that kind of guts. Instead of hating Wallis Simpson, the Queen should be thanking her - now look how Wallis changed the course of history!"

Bruce (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"... because she set a standard for fashion and style in her era."

Patrick (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She saw what she wanted, went after it, and got it. Also because she was beyond chic, and devoted her life to the wonderful pleasure of shopping."

Cheri (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She had great courage and strength."

Janice (UK) on Wallis Simpson
"Having just read two books about her and Edward, I think this woman alone changed the path of British History."

Bert (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"How can anyone not love a woman who inspired the king of England to give up his throne for her?"

Jami (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"She was fabulous.  She went after what she wanted, and got it."

Cheryl (USA) on Wallis Simpson
"... her amazing sense of style and pugs!"
